    RF Featured Member - Karina

Karina is one of the hardest working people in the gym that I know. Her commitment and ability to show up and put out is hands down the biggest factor in her success. I love working with people who are coachable, take feedback and apply it, and stay positive. Karina executes all these on the daily. She's also quick to lend a hand to others around her and that's a testament to her character and nature. Thanks for being part of the the RF community Karina! - Jesus Acuna
If there was one thing you could say to your Coach, what would it be?
Thank you! Jesus has helped me in more ways than just my fitness. He has helped me to change my entire thought process around not only fitness and ....

Drop 10 pounds in 8 weeks test group…

One of the most common goals in fitness is weight loss. As a society, we spend billions of dollars trying to shed the weight. There are a lot of ways to do it. Most of which are not sustainable and based on selling you a “quick fix” and then it goes away when you no longer buy it. That doesn’t sit right with me. So, I decided to come up with a program to do it the “right way”.
    The challenge?
Help people lose 10 pounds in 8 weeks.
Because 10 pounds is attainable and 8 weeks is reasonable. But more important is that it’s just hard enough to be considered a challenge and easy enough to build momentum. If you’re interested in this, chances are ....

Special Program Alert: Youth + Parent Training

I often hear things like “Kids aren’t as active as they used to be…”, or “How do you help a young athlete get stronger?” If you want kids to be strong and active, then we must lead by example!
One of the things that got me hooked on exercise and physical activity at a young age was strength training. If I could go back, I would’ve started sooner. That’s why I feel it’s important for our kids to see us supporting and doing the things that will keep them healthy, thriving, and improving.
Starting May 30th, we will be launching a 4-Week Youth + Parent Training Program.
This program is designed to help parent and child get ....

  • What to do when you’re not motivated to workout

What to do when you’re not motivated to workout

Full disclosure, the last 6 weeks have been a GRIND to get my workouts in. There’s been a lot on my brain taking priority over a good workout: spending time with my family, staying healthy, social distancing, keeping the business running, helping out other humans, etc… To say that I have not been motivated to workout is an understatement. So what do you do when you’re not motivated to workout? This is not a motivational post. If anything, it’s as REAL as it gets. Lack of motivation, I’m assuming you already had it prior, is a sign of being overwhelmed. AKA you have too much on your plate and your body is telling you to back off. If you ignore ....

    RF Featured Member - Christian

Since I opened Resilient Fitness, I wanted a way to highlight the members who walk in the doors and work with me remotely. I take great pride in running a business that is focused on coaching members and making them feel that they are not just another number. That means that we celebrate all forms of success. Yes, fitness usually brings on weight management goals and strength, but the real nuggets are hidden between the lines and I hope that this "Featured Member" series allows individuals to share their stories so that others may feel inspired and empowered. With that being said, I am so gratefulto share with you our FIRST featured member, Christian Ortiz. Christian is part of ....

Tips On Strength Training for Longevity and Beyond (18 Exercise Videos and 2 Training Schedules Inside)

I learned at an early age that strength training was a tool to get better, faster, and stronger. I spent my high school years hitting the weights and striving to be a better athlete. I pushed my body and accumulated injuries along the way. I was awarded all-southern Arizona honors, named team captain, and helped the team win a state championship, so by those metrics I would say it worked. Something happened when I was about to turn 30. It felt like every injury I had ever had quickly came back and created nagging aches and pains. I had to modify and sometimes stop training. I quit playing basketball, soccer, and slow-pitch because I couldn’t recover from the games and ....

  • The BEST Warm Up System for Getting the Most Out of Your Training

The BEST Warm Up System for Getting the Most Out of Your Training

Warming up properly before exercise has been shown to increase performance, increase injury prevention, and prepare the body to maximize the following training session. It can also be a powerful tool for improving pain management. These are all very important reasons to WARM UP. But let’s be real, most people skip the warm, or at best do 5 minutes on cardio equipment then do 2-3 “warm-up” sets of whatever exercise they have that day. That’s not good enough for men and women who want to excel and get the most of their training session. More importantly, there are a lot of benefits that are being left on the table without doing a proper warm up. Like the ones ....

  • February Updates at Resilient Fitness

    February Updates at Resilient Fitness

We’re finishing up the month of January for 2020 and there has been so much going on. One thing that has been on my mind is the importance of time, life, and love. The 9 lives of mothers, daughters, fathers and coaches lost in the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash is unbelievable and the mourning has been felt around the world. We all have a different way of dealing with it, I’d be lying if I told you I was the biggest Kobe fan and followed every move the man made. Truth be told, I can’t ever remember watching him play a full game. But, I was excited for what seemed to be the next chapter of his life and the mentorship role he had on kids and young players in the NBA. ....

  • The WHY Behind RF and Updates

The WHY Behind RF and Updates

We're off to a solid start in 2020 and are happy to share some updates headed your way! But before I go over all the things going on, I want to take a second and reflect on WHY we opened Resilient Fitness (RF) and what that means for how we do things. According to Forbes , the fitness industry is a $30 billion dollar machine and that's in the U.S. alone. This in part due to the fact that people want healthier food options, wearables (i.e. fitbit), streaming services, and budget-friendly gyms. But yet the top 5 health risks listed by Blue Cross Blue Shield are all preventable/treatable conditions via fitness interventions.
So people are spending money on fitness, but it's not ....
